Xbox One Rumors Cleared Up – Confirmed information from Microsoft

xbox one

We have heard a lot of rumors about the new xbox one, but recently microsoft released a statement with information of changes in their master plan to be the biggest console in the world!

One thing I should state  first, most of this information is backtracking what microsoft previously said but hey thats a good thing right? Most importantly all of this is confirmed from the www.news.xbox.com so you can brag to your friends in all confindence!

Can only buy digital copies of the game? FALSE

Yes! You’ll still be able to buy disc-based games at traditional retailers just like before or you can buy online through Xbox Live, on demand. However when reading up on this they used one special phrase  ”discs will always continue to be a great way to install your games quickly” So I if you would like all the features listed below you will have to install it.

Fee charged Trade-in and resell your disc-based games?FALSE

Most gamers choose to sell their old disc-based games back for cash and credit. So Xbox have backtracked what they said before so so you can trade in your games at participating retailers free of charge.  Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games.

Now wait, this may sound good but microsoft have still said some concerning things written in there, such as:

  • “game publishers can enable you”  – This means on some games the publisher of that game can make it so you can not trade this in, but naturally this would be a bad move from them

  • “ participating retailers” – This means there is a possibility you will not be able to trade your games in at your beloved gaming store! However most big gaming retail shops should be part of this

  • ”Microsoft does not charge” – Yes this means there will not be a fee but could there be a hidden fee from the publisher? or will the retailers make you pay more for this?

Must be connected to the internet at least once a day?TRUE

With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies.

Anyone can turn off your xbox by saying ““Xbox Off” TRUE

All I can say to this…. Lets go trolling!

Kinect will always see you? YOU DECIDE

If you don’t want the Kinect sensor on while playing games or enjoying your entertainment, you can pause Kinect. To turn off your Xbox One, just say “Xbox Off.” When the system is off, it’s only listening for the single voice command — “Xbox On,” and you can even turn that feature off too. Some apps and games may require Kinect functionality to operate, so you’ll need to turn it back on for these experiences.

You must have a broadband connection of 1.5Mbps plus.FALSE

For an optimal experience, xbox recommend a broadband connection of 1.5Mbps. (For reference, the average global internet connection speed as measured recently by Akamai was 2.9 Mbps).  In areas where an Ethernet connection is not available, you can connect using mobile broadband.
